On first few listens, I would give this a 8/10 but can might even go higher after multiple listens. ![]() And After hours is definitely worthy of being the title track for this, such an amazing beat, and Weeknd's performance on it was undeniably great.Ī much-needed album, been waiting for new music while just stuck at home and it's been well worth it. And Blinding Lights was obviously a hit, no wonder he got a Mercedes deal out of that. When Heartless first released, it had a little Starboy title track vibe to me, got me hyped for the album. The outro Until I Bleed Out reminds me most of KissLand - kind of like how it ended with Tears in the Rain, a good ending to an album, kind of reminded me of As Your Are from BBTM as well.Īs for the singles, they were all amazing. I liked Alone Again, Too Late, and Escape from LA, but they'll have to grow on me. That kind of sound has been getting more traction lately and reminds of Broken Bell's Holding on For Life produced by Danger Mouse. There was a similarity between songs like Hardest to Love, Scared to Live, In Your Eyes, Save Your Tears, loved all of these, reminded me a bit of a Hall & Oates vibe, more retro, lot of synth-pop, I can't pinpoint the exact era but he used a lot of this sound in the Starboy album as well. ![]() Absolutely loved Snowchild, the "Cali was the mission but now a nigga leeeaaavinnnnn" line will be in my head forever.įaith was another amazing hit, Metro Boomin is unstoppable man, anything he touches is unquestionably fire. ![]()
